Ahhhh, Easter long weekend. It came earlier than normal this year, which means the Plenty Warehouse Sale came early too. I got to shop the sale before the masses came in for the long weekend – and as usual, I was on the hunt for the start of my summer wardrobe.
With the 10th anniversary of Mean Girls last Wednesday, Mother’s Day coming up on Sunday, and the pink ensembles at the Met Gala last night, it was only fitting to do a collection of all things girly and pink.
#MetGala and #MetBall2014 quickly popped up on my Twitter feed yesterday afternoon and like the true Twitter Chat-addicted fiend I am, I followed the stream of some truly amazing looks (cue Blake Lively and Hailee Steinfeld) and some very WTF moments (cue Lupita Nyong’o and Sandra Lee). I loved Emma Stone’s pink Thakoon gown ensemble below here – she’s been killin’ it on the red carpet lately. The Queen of the Plastics herself, Rachel MacAdams wore a Ralph Lauren dress, and Taylor Swift was looking gorgeous in an Oscar de la Renta gown.
More often than not, I like to keep outfits simple and comfortable. This outfit was bought after a big day of warehouse sales, sample sales, and general frolicking around the city. This Vera Moda blouse had a cute bow and zip detail to make just interesting enough to stand out. The pants are simple side-zipped pants from H&M, and the Joe Fresh nude flats were (of course) on sale for $9.99. Pointy flats are hell to break in though, but they were too good of a deal to pass up.
This blouse was originally $70.00, and there was a 50% end-of-season sale, so it was just $34.99. The outfit came in at just under $73, and I didn’t feel the need for any jewelry. The blouse has been well worn and goes with just about everything!
